Health & Safety

Before using fire and smoke-based cooking appliances, BBQ ClubHouse member clubs must carry out a thorough risk assessment.

This helps identify hazards, protect volunteers and the public, and meet legal obligations under the UK Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Proper ventilation is essential when using LPG, charcoal, or kiln-dried logs to prevent carbon monoxide build-up. Commercial LPG appliances must be tested annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer, with relevant certificates and public liability insurance in place.
