Rowledge Cricket Club

The Challenge
Rowledge Cricket Club had long wanted to elevate its matchday food offer, but like many amateur clubs, it lacked both the right kit and the confidence to do something different. While volunteer enthusiasm was never in short supply, turning that into consistent, quality food output proved trickier – especially without commercial equipment or culinary training.
The ClubHouse Solution
Through the BBQ ClubHouse initiative, Rowledge CC received a DeliVita wood-fired oven and the confidence to fire it up on matchdays. With guidance and inspiration from BBQ Magazine, club volunteers quickly embraced the new bit of kit, serving up fresh, crowd-pleasing pizzas straight from the pitch-side.

The Result
The impact was immediate. Not only did the pizza offering go down a storm with families, players and visitors, but it also turned into a commercial win for the club. Friday youth training nights were transformed – food became part of the experience, not an afterthought – and the oven itself is now a hub of activity and conversation, building a greater sense of community, encouraging players and parents to stay longer at the club, spending more at the facility.

What the Club Says
“The club is thrilled with the success of the wood-fired oven and the addition of the DeliVita par-baked sourdough bases make the pizza preparation so easy that hardly any training is required,”
Carl Baker, Chairman of Rowledge CC.
